Preparing Communities for Climate Change
The latest issue of the Climate Change Business Journal highlights sustainable approaches featured in recent Camiros’ projects in Buffalo and Mobile. Despite the federal government’s lack of interest in better understanding the climate impacts on transportation systems, state DOTs, regional MPOs, and local governments have continued to commission climate change risk assessments and incorporate climate risks into comprehensive planning and design/engineering of transport infrastructure. This market is dynamic, especially in coastal regions, and still in its early phases. Camiros Principal, Adam Rosa, AICP, was interviewed by the Journal to talk about how adaptive strategies have become standard practice to regular community planning at the firm.
