Camiros worked with the City of Keene to create a Form-based Code for the City’s Downtown as well as to assist staff in the creation of an updated Land Development Code.

The form-based code for Downtown, adopted with the full LDC in 2021, is intended to ensure that the unique character of downtown Keene is maintained and strengthened, while continuing to encourage creativity and innovation in new building design.

The LDC provides more opportunities for people to live Downtown in a variety of dwelling types and allows for the development of amenities that can serve their daily needs. The form-based code addresses the varied character areas within downtown as unique “place type” subdistricts, with use permissions, dimensional standards, and design standards tailored to each.

Camiros also consulted with the City on a number of key issues incorporated into the Land Development Code update, led by staff, and produced all illustrations and a final format for the updated document.
